Background:
Devon has led a very difficult life for someone so young. He was born to a single mother, a medium, who had a terrible time dealing with her gift. He never knew his father, never knew any of her family, only knew her and the life that she provided him which was one of moving from place to place because her ability made it hard for her to keep down a job, and being terrified of dead people because she wasn't able to properly teach him anything.

When he was just a little over five years old, his mother said goodbye to him, and she dropped him off on the doorstep of a man he'd never met, explaining that he could take him to his father who would take care of him from then on. It was shortly after that that he came into his father's custody, a fire demon with a bad temper who was a student at TJS. Things were difficult at first, but then they got better. He even found out that he had an aunt and made friends with another medium who helped him out more than his mother ever had. He has been with his father now for several months, and he's happy, grateful to finally be in an environment that's relatively stable.

Of course all of that really changed the more time that was spent with his father. After a sudden marriage to Will Grey, due to the fact that Devon's grandparents wanted to take him away, things began to go very downhill for his family. And in an act of desperation, and influenced by his ghost friend Jack, Devon made a wish to be a grown up so that he could help keep his family together. The wish, in the end, tore them apart and left him in the body of a 21 year old man.
